Why Notaries don’t like Snapdocs and why companies do

Let me go point by point about how Snapdocs is designed for those who hire, and not for the convenience of those who are Notaries.

1. Cattle Calls
Cattle call style mass texts make life easy for those hiring Notaries. They just input a few lines of text, click a link and a desperate Notary will come crawling to them. One minute of work for the signing company, but dozens of Notaries will have their life interrupted only to find that the job has been given to someone else.

2. Thumbs up or thumbs down?
The Notaries cannot see what the comments are about them. But, companies can get an idea of what other companies think about the Notaries. These comments do not compare to 123notary’s skill analytics. But, this game is no longer about skill, but price and not making any major blunders or leaving people high and dry. I tested many of the best Notaries on Snapdocs and the vast majority did not know how to follow instructions nor did they understand Notary Procedure well at all.

3. Downloading & Uploading
The process of downloading documents or uploading documents is easy for signing companies. It is also easy for Notaries, but designed more with the intent of convenience for those paying to use the system.

4. Record Keeping & Data
Snapdocs stores lots of data about who your connections are who you do signings with as well as job information. This is very convenient for those using the system except that your information about your secret clients will become known to Snapdocs for better or for worse. That was an issue for several companies I am acquainted with.

Personally, I prefer a system where you can get to know the notary in person over the phone before you use them. But, for the millennials out there, Snapdocs fits their cultural model. It relieves people of the necessity and burden of actually having to talk to others. Where has humanity gone? I have to post my latest selfie on Instagram.

  1. Its very unprofessional and they low ball the notaries to make more for themselves. And yes it is very annoying.
Not all notories are the same in experience and will not except 90% of these with the prices they want to pay for loan signings.
They don’t compinsade for travel time or other circumstances, faxing, scanning and too many pages to print etc.

  3. I hate snapdocs wy they sent me on an assignment and llowed the customer to change the location last minute and expected em to notarize docs without her ID. I DONT THINK SO

  4. I still don’t understand the fixation with SNAPDOCS, it is one source of Notary assignments. Use them or don’t, lots of people use them, lots of people don’t. Why this fixation with trashing SNAPDOCS? I don’t remember getting anything from SNAPDOCS saying how terrible 123Notary was. I use both equally and I am sure many do the same. Let’s discuss issues facing the Notary use in the future, things to make things better for our field of endeavor.

  5. Until ALL notaries stop taking these cheap cheap jobs, these companies will keep the fees ridiculously low. JUST SAY NO.
Everyone, read what these companies charge the customer. I’ve seen as much as $600.00. I don’t leave the house for under $100.00

  6. The requests for signings my office has received offer a novice fee plus generally require fax backs (no additional fee). Too, seems many requests are last minute. I am not doing Snapdocs because of this.

  7. I’ve responded with my positive comments about my association over the many years with Snapdocs…nothing but position closed over 73 with them…My fee is set with each lender that calls me…documents and upload or download all in the same website..my ach is immediate based on the company that hired me….but I read some of your negative comments and don’t quite understand why there are problems …all I can determine it has to be localized to some areas….there are many companies out there I just don’t work for…fees too low and I tell them…occasionally they make my fee..but many companies more difficult than Snapdocs….hopefully you all can figure out why some of us have no issue with Snapdocs and why some of you do….Good Luck..there is enough wor out there particularly now for everyone…

  8. Why does Snap Docs issue a 1099 with a California address so we have to file a California state return when we don’t even reside in that state? (At least that is what my accountant says.) No other closing company does this.
