What do people like about being a mobile notary?

Filed under: General Articles — admin @ 5:59 am

There are many reasons why someone would become a mobile notary. There are also other reasons why a person might continue to be a mobile notary. Here are a few.

1. Work your own hours
Are you tired of the 9-5 hussle and hassle? Working your own hours is great. You can also do other gigs between notary jobs, or take other gigs when there normally aren’t any notary jobs. You can also work a part time or full time job and keep doing signings.

2. Drive
Some people were born to be on the road (again). If you love to drive, being a mobile notary will keep you busy. You can work on the road, eat on the road, and just remember not to sleep on the road as that might be dangerous.

3. Meet new people and then notarize them
It is like being in the armed forces. Go to foreign countries, meet new people and then kill them. Instead of killing them, you notarize them — it’s the next best thing — trust me. You will meet people from all walks of life. You will know every end of the spectrum of middle class (boring) as well. Just like a snobby British upper class lady once said, “A marriage made in middle-class — how pedantic.” And then the sarcastic New Yorker said, “She could have done worse.” So take your pick. You can also meet criminals, kidnappers, arsonists, frauds, strippers, porn actresses and more. But, for the most part you will meet very “pedestrian” middle-class Americans who are so boring that you should have a cup of Joe before the signing to ensure you don’t fall asleep. On the other hand if boring is your thing — you will meet the right demographic. On a brighter note, if you live near a fun town like Santa Monica or Hollywood, you might meet more fun people.

4. Deter fraud
It brings meaning to my life to be part of reducing the amount of fraud in this world. Fraud creates uncertainty and suffering and the angels would prefer that we keep our world clean and orderly and that is why I believe they chose me to run this directory as I try to keep things ship shape. Notaries who are thorough make it very hard for frauds to get away with anything. Using that raised seal embosser on every page of every document you notarize, checking ID’s carefully and thumb printing makes it hard to do anything suspicious.

5. Reading our blog
Some Notaries like being a notary just so they have a legitimate excuse to read our zany blog. Yes, the comedy articles on the blog make the whole nightmare of being a mobile notary all worth it in the end. Laugh your way to success.

6. Money
Believe it or not, some people make good money in this profession, or at least used to. And others make a good supplement to their income too. If you are efficient allocating your time, you can make good money at least on an hourly basis. You should see what Carmen rakes in for very quick jobs taking less than an hour from door to door.

7. Retirement
Being a mobile notary is a great way to spend your retirement. It is hard to work full-time as an elderly person, but as a notary you can work as much as you feel up to it.

8. A good job after you have been in Mortgage
If you were in Mortgage for years, being a mobile notary is a natural continuation as your knowledge will carry over to a particular extent as a notary.

9. Stamping
Some people find it theraputic to stamp things, and as a notary, that is what you do every day. It might make you feel official.

10. Reading up on legal aspects
Being a Notary means you have to read up on the legal aspect of being a Notary Public. You need to know all of the identification procedures and all of the various notary acts. There is a lot to know and many people enjoy learning the legal distinctions. And then there are others who are so afraid to commit UPL that they fail to learn Notary law themselves and end up committing crimes out of ignorance on a daily basis. You might like giving Oaths too — I swear! Hmmm.

So that concludes my little article on why you might like being a mobile notary. I hope that you all now see the positives in your career and don’t regret being in this profession.

A new app for breaking up with your girlfriend – braekupp

Filed under: Humorous Posts — admin @ 5:58 am

Yes — it is a new app for breaking up with your girlfriend, boyfriend, or even a signing company that didn’t pay you. Why break up in person, or by text when you can use this app.

It is called – braekupp and you can get a free download online.

braekupp has an algorithm that helps you analyze how worthless your relationship is based on 29 factors (hmm, sounds like eHarmony in reverse.) It also explains the factors to you. Then, it will contact your ex by phone, text, email and on social media and diss her properly — ouch!

With braekupp you get to choose the exact wording of how you are going to diss your ex. You can use polite language and say, “It just isn’t working out.” Or you can insult them and call them some choice words such as, “I’m so done with you you dumb-ass so and so.” Ouch! There are hundreds of choices of verbiage variations so you can diss your miss with style.

For signing company break ups you can use lines such as — “You didn’t pay me, so I’m done working for you. Find some other loser to fax back all night long, jerk!”

If you are wondering how to get a new girlfriend or signing company or girlfriend who works at a signing company (not recommended) we will be coming up with a new app for that soon, but it might take a while.

What would make the notary profession better?

Filed under: General Articles — admin @ 5:57 am

Notaries get together on the forums and complain about the profession. Sure there is a lot to complain about, but what can be done to make the profession better? Also, if it is so bad, then why do you stay in this industry — are you stuck here?

1. Less fax backs.
Perhaps it is necessary to check people’s work, but if someone has done x amount of error-free signings, shouldn’t they be able to get away with not faxing back every page?

2. Faster pay
There is no reason to make Notaries wait 60 days to get paid. Payment should be within 30 days with no exceptions.

3. Borrowers who are more fun
Personally, I’m tired of meeting people like the Smiths, or the Jones who are just plain plain. Boring! I want fun signers like comedians, criminals, world travelers, acrobats, etc. I would pay to notarize borrowers who were actors who would be a little more fun.

4. Better blog articles
I’m doing my best people. You could write some material too and share it with the group on our blog. Why do I have to do all the work?

5. Less traffic
Sorry, that is out of my control. But, there is a guy named Scotti who can beam you up!

6. Shorter packages
How about a loan that is three pages. You would be in and out in minutes. But, in the real world that will not happen.

7. Faster printers.
How about a printer that can print 200 pages in four minutes?

8. Cheaper paper and toner.
Not in this lifetime.

9. Fun courses
If we could have live seminars with lessons taught with comedy, that would be much more fun than our blog course and online courses. But, it is too difficult to get people together in the same place at the same time, so try to deal with what you do have.

10. Better pay
But, if there were more money, there would be much more competition and 99% of you would be weeded out of the game. So, be careful what you wish for.

The end!

I am writing about how I am out of ideas of topics to write about

Filed under: Comprehensive Guides,Social Media — admin @ 5:57 am

It is the first time in eight years where I have racked my brains and cannot think of anything to write about. Back in 2011 I remember that I had the same problem. I started to write about state issues. There were few readers and lots of critics. Every time I made a mistake or didn’t make a state-specific mistake but was accused of it, it was a headache.

I have written about notary technical issues to the point where I cannot think of anything I didn’t already cover. I could go over materials I already wrote about and rewrite them. But, unique material will be hard to think of.

Comedy articles are fun because there seems to be an infinite source of ideas. I work with several comedy writers and you can tie notary themes in with themes in the news which keep changing.

What do you guys think I should write about other than my wacky road trips to other states?

By the way, I didn’t think of the idea of this article. A 22 year old guy with a good sense of humor thought I should write about this when I mentioned to him that I can’t think of anything to write about.

I want my 123

Filed under: Advertising — admin @ 5:56 am

MTV and pop culture
Remember back in the 80’s when people said, I want my MTV? Do they still exist? I spent a lot of time watching rock videos back in 1984. It was my introduction to popular culture because I was so out of it before that. But, what about the Notary world. If there were a slogan for our business, what would it be?

I want my 123
123notary is a great way to learn the fine art of loan signings. An armed robber steals only the Notary seal

Filed under: Humorous Posts — admin @ 5:55 am

Frank was at home with his wife Stella. They were having Earl Grey tea and crumpets. Yeah, they like it British style and nobody could figure out why. Then a robber broke down their door and came into the living room where the couple was sipping their tea.

ROBBER: I want it — hand it over!

FRANK: Hand over bloody what?

ROBBER: Is that a glottal stop?

FRANK: Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t.

ROBBER: I’ve always wanted to know how to do a glottal stop.

FRANK: It’s easy really, you just make an abrupt “uh” sound in the end of a word.

ROBBER: Wow, so it’s that easy. Hey! Why are we talking about this. This is a robbery.

FRANK: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The jewelry is in the drawer over there.

ROBBER: I don’t want your damn jewelry.

STELLA: It’s not very expensive anyway. I got it mostly at thrift shops. My hubby is too much of a cheap skate.

ROBBER: Men! Oh wait a second, I’m a man too. Why am I on this tangent. Okay. I want your seal. Hand it over!

FRANK: I can’t give that to you, that would be illegal.

ROBBER: Well I’m a robber, so my least concern is whether something is legal or not.

STELLA: But, we would report it and if you used the seal you would get locked up.

ROBBER: Not if I backdate.

FRANK: The investigators would check my journal to confirm the record and there won’t be a record, so you will still get caught.

ROBBER: I’ll escape before anyone finds out.

FRANK: Yes, but that will nullify the point of the fraudulent activity because any financial gain you get will be reversed when the paper trail is investigated. Besides, you can just make a photocopy of someone’s seal on a document and nobody will know the difference unless forensics looks into it. Happened to me and yes, forensics did look into it. That is also a crime with prison time by the way if it involves real property.

ROBBER: Damn you Notaries. Why do you have to be so damn smart. Now, what were you saying about jewelry?

STELLA: Second hand stuff. The turquoise is fake, but looks great. Is it for your wife?

ROBBER: Of all the Notaries I could have robbed. Does this one look good on me?

STELLA: It goes with your eyes.

FRANK: I texted the police while you were trying on the jewelry. But, yes, I agree with Stella. It compliments you.

ROBBER: Oh does it? You what? Uh oh.

FRANK: Hey you did it?

ROBBER: Did what?

FRANK: The glottal stop when you said “uh oh”.

ROBBER: Cool. Well. Gotta run before the po po come over.

Best kept Notary secrets

Filed under: Business Tips — admin @ 5:54 am

Every profession has secrets, but what are the best secrets a Notary could know?

1. Getting reviews on your listing will more than double your new calls.

2. If the ID has a shorter name variation than the docs do, you can put that same shorter name variation on the Acknowledgment and notarize.

3. If you are notarizing John and Sally and the acknowledgment is prefilled, but Sally can’t make it — pick a new loose acknowledgment from your back and start over.

4. You can get free courses on the 123notary.com blog. Email us if you can’t find them.

5. Carmen knows how to make $200 in less than an hour doing Notary work. Can you figure out how she does it?

6. Answering questions the way they were asked instead of trying to bombard the caller with unwanted self-promotion gives a good impression.

7. Check your email, phone and texts all the time or you will get left behind in this ADD millennial culture.

8. If you can print in your car you will save so much time driving back home.

9. Don’t offer credit to companies who are not reputable and limit credit to those who are trustworthy or you will eventually get strung along.

10. Don’t hate the portal – hate the game!

Trump Rallies the Notary-publicans

Filed under: Andy Cowan — admin @ 5:53 am

Trump Rallies the Notary-publicans

President Trump took his reelection campaign to the heart of notary country today to try to rally his base.

DJT: Look at this crowd of notaries! This is an even bigger crowd than the crowd who showed up for my Inaugural. There must be dozens and dozens of you. Whoever booked me for this time waster, as in my old job… “You’re fired.”

I’ve gotten more done for notaries in my first two and a half years than Presidents Obama and Bush put together. The numbers of jobs for notaries witnessing the signings of executive orders putting immigrant kids in cages is through the roof, am I right? And it’s a beautiful, fantastic roof. Almost as beautiful as the wall I’m pretending to build I pretended Mexico would pay for.

I see a lot of credible witnesses in the crowd. I’m talking about a third person who personally knows the document signer and verifies the signer’s identity. And look, there’s the anything but credible witness, Don Junior. Chin up, Don. Oh, it’s already up? I couldn’t see it – it’s a very weak chin. Takes after one of my ex-wives, not me. Except for the “anything but credible” part. There he’s a chip off the old block.

We’re gonna have fantastic Errors and Omissions insurance for all you notaries. That’s because I want to protect a notary from any mistake that causes a financial loss to a client, so you won’t be sued for recovery, okay? I know all about being sued. You know who needs Errors and Omissions insurance? The fake news. I see you out there. CNN. MSNBC. They omit things all the time. Like how unbelievable fantastic I am. They make errors all the time. Like that footage of me walking up to Air Force One with toilet paper stuck on my shoe. It wasn’t toilet paper!

It was the Constitution. By the time I got done trampling over it, it looked like toilet paper, okay? And there was no collusion. No obstruction. That last one was a lie but I throw you so many, who can keep up?

And the Dems want to impeach me, because they’re bad, bad, disgusting, horrible people. And I’ll never resign. Whereas if you notaries resign your commission, you have to notify the Secretary of State’s office within 30 days. And not Secretary of State Crooked Hillary. That’s right…“Lock her up!” “Lock her up!” Wait, you’re not chanting it right. It’s “her,” not “him.” Stop chanting “Lock him up!” I’m not rooming with that mouth breather Michael Cohen! Forget it. Or Manafort. Do you know he dyes his hair?

Drug of choice for Notaries

Filed under: Humorous Posts — admin @ 5:52 am

Many professions have a drug of choice.

For acupuncturists it is heroin because they like the needles.
Dentists prefer laughing gas as it is easily available at least for them.
Chiropractors prefer crack.
But, what do Notaries like?

There is a new drug called “stamp”. No, it’s not smack, but stamp. It makes you feel like you are on top of the world and will get paid by everyone. It makes you feel so rich that if you don’t get paid if you won’t even care. Stamp looks like how LSD was described to me as it comes in little squares. Each little square is a stamp. You just put it on your tongue and get high, or as the local users say, “get notarized.”

I was standing on a street corner and this real loser came up to me and said, “Hey man, wanna get notarized? It’s really cool.” I was thinking, “Yeah I bet it is — I can’t go for that because I didn’t bring my ID.” He said, “Bummer man, maybe next time.”

Nobody will sell you any stamp if you don’t have a current ID, so be prepared and some dealers require journal thumbprints too for this drug.

Should you meet a Notary at a coffee place?

Filed under: Business Tips — admin @ 5:51 am

Coffee places are a nice place to meet for a variety of reasons. You can meet friends, have a first date, a last date, or just hang out by yourself and browse your iPad while drinking frappachinos. Here are some reasons why coffee places are nice:

1. They are easy to find compared to finding the address of a residence in the dark.
2. They have easy parking normally
3. It is a comfortable atmosphere to talk to people or even sign papers.
4. They have really good espresso although I have mixed opinions about the biscottis.

Coffee places also offer neutrality. No, not gender neutrality (I think I’ve beaten that horse to death.) But, you can feel safe there as opposed to going to someone’s house at night. After all, what if they are in a bad neighborhood, or what if you are some paranoid woman who is afraid to go to someone’s house?

Also, if you have to wait for the other person to show up, a coffee house is a nice place to wait around. After all, you can have a latte while you waitte. I think I spelled wait wrong — but… what.. ever…. In theory, you could arrange appointments all day long and just hang out at that spot. It might get boring, but you would be on a first name basis with the various barristas.

So, go meet a Notary at a coffee spot and have a caffeinated notarization. Your signature might be a bit jittery, but that adds character to the signing.
