Have you ever been spat on, bitten or yelled at during a signing?

There are so many bad things that happen at signings. I guess I was lucky. I had some rude dog owners, but that was the worst of it. The humans were worse than the annoying dogs.

But, other people had cats bite them, stepped on glass after removing shoes, had dogs bother them, had people pull guns on them, or were yelled at.

What kinds of terrible signing stories do you guys have? Please share as the others would love to know.

  1. Never!
People & animals love me, even though I am allergic to the 4-legged beings. And! I receive hugs (b4 covid) and gifts! Furthermore, I prefer to focus on the and positive things rather than the negative. Things happen; life is not perfect and its up to you what you make of it. I was talking to my dad about a disappointment once and he said, “Sometimes you get the bear and once in a while the bear gets you.” That comment has stuck with me ever since. When I do have a bad day and I think, why do I do this? I remember his words and the fact that those times are in the tiny minority and I Love being a Loan Signing Agent.

  2. Only with Snapdocs when I started out a shady gold firm contacted me and desperate to get started I accepted. The signers brother was home and thought I worked for the company and was coming to ‘rip off’ his sister. He threatened me at first until I showed him ID and explained who I was. He still sat at the signing and he and his sister argued the whole time. The company also stiffed new.

On another day after doing three assignments Another ‘emergency order’ came in from SnapDocs which I stupidly accepted. The original notary was MIA so they had me go to a very bad part of town to do a midnight signing. The signers thought I was the MIA notary and were extremely heated until I explained who I was and that I was independent of their title company. They signed but on the way back I of course got into a car accident by a kid who turned left into me on the highway, totaling my car. I contacted title to let them know the scan back might take a while, and they demanded it be done immediately. Needless to say I refuse signings in that area of town. And while a good story taught me a lot about Snap Docs and what their clients think about signing agents.
