The appointment was booked, but the client didn’t answer

Filed under: General Stories — admin @ 1:10 pm

A Notary recently got a complaint. She accepted an appointment that had been booked, but canceled at the last minute because the client didn’t answer. As a general rule, you should confirm a signing before you commit to a time. But, if you already committed, and the other person (borrower, client, lender, etc.) doesn’t pick up, you still have to go because you are committed.

The Notary claimed that she called twice, and never received a return call. She wanted to know if anyone had traveled, or had Covid. She claimed that the client was expecting their call.

There are two sides to this story, but the Notary already committed, so it is too late to back out. Just hope that you get paid for travel time if the signing gets cancelled.

A Notary was late to her hospital signing and got a complaint

Filed under: Marketing Articles — admin @ 1:09 pm

I am writing about complaints because that seems to be the juiciest topic of discussion and I do have a few complaints on file to discuss — no names!

The Notary was on the way to the hospital. She called to say she was behind.

The customer wrote a complaint stating the document was time sensitive and that they made a special arrangement.

The Notary explained that it was a $5 job, and that she was stuck in traffic. And besides, she wasn’t going to go in with her already compromised immune system.

COMMENTARY
In my opinion, it looks like the Notary didn’t want to do the job in the first place, yet agreed, and agreed for far too little money. I would charge $80 to do a signing at a hospital. You are dealing with delays, family members, ID issues, signers who might be drugged, and more. The Notary has no business accepting this type of job to begin with if she has a delicate immune system.

And words of wisdom — if you have a weak immune system, go to India for a few weeks — it’s like magic. If you don’t die, you’ll have an immune system made of cast iron (or since it’s India then “caste” iron.) You might get dyssentary, vomit for a week, or have horrible cramps, but your T cells will multiply by three because they will get a lot of action over there with all of the different bacteria cultures and viruses. You don’t increase your immunity by hiding, you get it by sunshine, fun and encountering lots of different types of viruses. Oh, and also having shitake mushrooms — look it up.

A step by step guide to RON

Filed under: Technical & Legal — admin @ 12:56 pm

I am watching more videos on RON to try to learn more.

There are different types of portals. Some portals farm out work to you and pay you once a day or so. One lady made $5 per notarization, but got a lot of quantity providing she was quick on the draw when jobs were dispatched or made available.

Other portals allow you to bring your own clients from wherever you found them, or clients your boss gave you. There are also portals where you can bring your own clients or notarize theirs for a cut of the total money. Here are some of the specifications and steps involved.

(1) You need an online commission (not all states allow this)

(2) You need an online seal

(3) IDENTIFICATION. The portals will verify the signer’s identity by seeing a photo of the front and back of their ID and also by asking them questions based on their credit information that supposedly only they (or a really good identity thief) would know.

(4) PAYMENT. The Portal will have a system to input the signer’s credit card information.

(5) THE DOCUMENT. The Notary can start the session after the ID and credit card have been inputted. The notary will see a video of themselves and the signer. The notary can enlarge or turn the ID using tools and compare it to the signer. The signer can also see the Notary’s information. Both parties can see the document on your computer.

(6) SIGNING. The signer can fill in the blanks and sign and date the document from here on. The signature can be drawn, typed or a scan can be used. The Notary can then fill in the venue, certificate wording, and then sign and seal the document.

(7) Last, you can click the complete the session button.

Some portals charge to get set up, while others like OneNotary do not charge up front for Notaries to get started with them.

An outdoor signing with old folks

Filed under: General Stories — admin @ 1:08 pm

I just read an accounting of a story about a Notary who did a signing for some oldsters. They signed at an outdoor table, but there were no chairs. It was freezing cold and the Notary was getting tired of leaning over the table as the signers read all of the 200 pages. The notary concluded that she would never do that type of signing again.

COMMENTARY
It is dangerous to be out in the cold for a long time especially if you are a vulnerable old person. So, by trying to stay safe from Covid, you end up compromising yourself. Covid-19 spreads lightening fast not because you aren’t wearing a mask, but when it is cold. South Dakota had no problem for nine months and then the minute the weather got frigid it spread out of control. But, what goes up, must peak and come down. They peaked in early November and now their new infection rate has gone down a lot.

By being outside in the cold for a prolonged period of time you might be increasing your chance of getting Covid or the flu. This kind of stupidity just defies common sense. Back in my day, old people had a monopoly on common sense. I guess times have changed.

Many Notaries avoid Reverse & Debt Signings.

Filed under: Marketing Articles — admin @ 1:08 pm

I have to call thousands of Notaries to get their notes sections filled out. The newer Notaries typically have less experience doing Reverse Mortgages, Debt Consolidations, and Debt Settlements. Half of the people who are experienced at these types of signing say they don’t want to do them or list them.

It is true that Reverse Signings and Debt Signings take longer, and that dealing with older folks can be a trying experience getting through 200 pages when they can barely see anything. If you are not patient, you might not last. Some Notaries think that Debt Resolutions or Debt Settlements are corrupt and a rip off. That is NOT for you to decide. Personally, I feel that debt in general spins our economy into extreme imbalances and can lead to financial slavery, ruined economies, etc. Perhaps that is why Jesus forbade it. Usury, gambling, sorcery — these things all lead to disastrous results. But, let he who has not sinned (or in our business — rescinded) throw the first stone.

BTW, I believe that medical marijuana and prescription drugs qualify as sorcery and look — all of America is addicted and controlled by big pharma as a result. Read the old testament and see what they say about sorcery. It is forbidden. So don’t take that aspirin. Natural herbs only. Marijuana by the way is no longer natural — it has been doctored and genetically modified at a lab — hence the term sorcery.

I feel that if you are a mobile Notary, charge for your time, work, and grief. If a particular type of signing or company is hard to deal with, charge accordingly. If you charge $80 for a regular Refinances, but think Reverse Mortgages are a pain, charge $150 or $200. You might not get it, but you might and that change will look good in your pocket. Many will pay because the other Notaries typically either don’t want to do this type of signing or also charge more. So, be practical and realistic and rake it in. Business is good now, so don’t take that for granted because it might slow down eventually, but probably not soon.

How do you define “pandemic?”

Filed under: General Stories — admin @ 12:08 am

What is a pandemic, and how do you know you are in one.

LADY: How can you go to work when we are in the middle of a pandemic?
GUY: How do you define pandemic?
LADY: Lots of people are dying. It’s an emergency!!!

There are several facts one should know about pandemics, particularly the “fakedemic” we are in now.

1. Covid19 is real, but only has a high death rate for people over 70, and a few very vulnerable people younger than that.

2. Hospitals get paid several thousand extra per death if they record the death as a Covid19 death. This could be considered bribery, or an invitation to corruption.

3. There are no definitive standards for what constitutes a Covid19 death. Many (roughly 25%) of the Covid deaths happened without the dead party being proven positive for Covid19.

4. The remaining 75% of Covid19 deaths consist of:
People who had Covid before , got over it, and died of something else
People who had Covid, but got hit by a bus, had a motorcycle accident, etc.
Those who had Covid but died of another lung complication such as the flu, or pneumonia
People who died solely of Covid which account for roughly 1-3% of the grand total of Covid19 Deaths.

5. The real total of people who died solely of Covid might be around 20,000, and those who died primarily of Covid might be about 40,000 to 80,000, but not whatever the total is these days which is coming up to 300,000 in the USA.

6. According to Judaism, a Pandemic is defined as an infectious disease that kills 3 in 500 people per day. In California Covid19 kills less than 2 people per Million per day. We would need 4000x the quantity of deaths (not cases) to qualify as a pandemic according to Judaism.

7. According to common sense, a Pandemic would be a situation where all hospitals are overflowing, the military is there, constant sirens, ambulances, helicopters moving the sick to where they could be cared for and moving the dead around. During the worst of the “pandemic” in NYC they did have bodies stacked up in the morgue, and overflowing hospitals. But, they did not use military hospitals. The rest of the country did not have such a drastic or desperate situation.

8. I see a pandemic of insanity, madness, and a lack of common sense. People believe everything the biased lamestream media tells them without scrutinizing the information or comparing it to other sources. We have fake pandemics, fake elections, fake news, fake impeachments, fake genders, and fake food. We seek to solve our pandemic with a man-made fake solution, namely a vaccine.

9. This plandemic is more like a horror movie where the evil scientist with a German accent creates a deadly virus, and has the cure for it locked up in a freezer compartment looking forward to selling it at a huge margin. But, in the end of such movies, the mad scientist gets locked up and the resilient people recover. In our case, the mad scientists are in China and backed by God knows who. I don’t see them going to jail.

10. Due to this plandemic, America has forgotten the hundreds of thousands of brave souls who fought so that we could have freedom, a constitution, and rule of law. Now, we are living under tyranny. States are putting respectable businesses in the food and entertainment industry permanently out of business all in the name of “safety.” The bigger problem is that the system of checks and balances doesn’t seem to be functioning. The courts let governors act as emperors and the people do not complain too loudly, even in gun toting redneck states (yee-haw).

Summary
Unless the people wake up and decide that yes, the constitution, liberty, freedom from tyranny, and a good economy matter (just as much as black lives matter), then we will either not have a country much longer, become Marxist, or have a broken economy, political system, and everything else. We are moving fast in that direction .But, why? Because of a pandemic of irrational thinking, a lack of common sense, and a hundred-fold overreaction to Covid Covid, oh my God Covid!

According to Judaism, the spiritual root of infections diseases are:
1. Improper use of speech such as slander, lying, jealousy, abusive speech and others.
2. Improper sexual behavior such as premarital sex, homosexual behavior, etc.
3. Violent behavior. In America there is a lot of spousal abuse, child trafficking, gang violence, etc.

A vaccine can save you from this current pandemic (maybe), but will not save you from God. If God feels you go around lying, cheating, slandering, and bearing false witness against your neighbor which has been huge, especially in politics since 2014 (much huger than normal in my opinion) then he will get you some other way. You can hide fro Covid, but you cannot hide from God

The contents of this article are some high quality, analytical, back to reality and solid spiritual principles which even atheists can get at least on a moral level. Only 20% of Americans (rough estimate) are thinking logically, the others are completely impossible to reason with and let their fear and emotions dictate their opinions. I do not feel it is safe to have your life run by a majority of insane lunatics. Think deeply about what I just said.

How long do you wait if nobody is home?

Filed under: Best Practices — admin @ 12:54 pm

If you go to a signing, and nobody is home, how long do you wait? Some people will wait all night while others will leave immediately. Try to take into consideration that there might have been a delay coming back from work or the market. Allowing ten or twenty minutes might make sense. Or you could try to see if your next client of the evening wants to sign early and then circle back afterwards to the original place as you don’t know how long they will keep you.

The best thing to do first is call the signer and see what is up. If they do not call back within ten or fifteen minutes, you can go. But, keep the phone by your side. They usually call the minute you drive off. It is Murphy’s law and it seems to be accurate.

But, on a brighter note, if you are religious about confirming appointments, you would have gone over the times and if they were on a tight schedule they would be likely to reveal that to you during the phone conversation. Yet another reason to be more adamant about confirming signings rather than just showing up.

So, how long you wait depends on what else you have going on. But to be fair, I would wait at least ten minutes and call the signer.

Notaries over 50

Filed under: General Stories — admin @ 11:29 am

If you are a Notary over 50, it is time to get your colon tested for colon cancer. Eating kale and cabbage just doesn’t cut it anymore, but chopping the cabbage does chop it. What if you have a polyps? Those store fecal matter for long periods of time and that is toxic and can cause cancer.

If you don’t maintain your intestines properly, you might end up with what grammarians refer to as a semi-colon.

Also, don’t ignore daily colon health. Most Americans don’t get enough figure. Salads, veggie soups, and stir fries with cabbage should be part of your diet. Certain foods have fiber which you need. But, you also need foods that nurture the colon energetically and chemically. Here are my suggestions.

FIBER SOURCES

Psyllium Husks – this is a great source of fiber in capsules. It is not a substitute for a good diet, but will give you shapely bowel movements that are not at all gunky. This supplement can dehydrate you a little, so drink lots of water if you take these.

Blackberries – This is the food source with the highest grams of fiber per serving. They also are good for keeping your blood vessels cleaned out. Or try blackberry jam. This food has roughly 8 grams of fiber per serving.

Avocados – These are next in line for having almost 7 grams of fiber per serving and is considered a super food.

Nuts — Any type of nuts have good fiber and lots of other minerals. As with any other high calorie food, consume in moderation.

Veggies – Vegetables have fiber, but not as much as you might think, so you have to eat a lot of them.

ENERGETIC SOURCES
In addition to getting enough fiber for colon health, you need foods that nourish the colon with good energy, natural chemicals, and moisture.

Aloe Vera — you can drink it or eat it. This has been used for centuries by eastern medicine as a way to help the colon get the moisture it needs. Just don’t over do it or it will have too much moisture.

Bananas — This good is shaped like a colon and helps keep the intestines healthy and moving. It is a natural preventive measure against constipation. But, if you are already constipated, it may or may not provide fast relief. A banana a day keeps the colonoscopy therapist away.

Apples – This food is good for colon, liver and for your body in general.

Mangos – Helps protect the lungs and colon. Yummy too with yogurt in a lassi.

Cabbage – This is a superfood for the colon along with other cruciferous vegetables. It provides nutrients to keep the colon healthy.

If you want to live to be 100, stay lean, keep a healthy colon and liver, and think happy thoughts. The sad thing is that most Notaries are over 50, and have horrible health problems like cancer, strokes, diabetes. It is important to maintain yourself in a daily manner, and that will reduce the risk of serious health complications. I am now walking two times per day for at least 40 minutes. I am feeling better and dropping a lot of weight too.

Jeremy is fatigued, but why?

Filed under: General Stories — admin @ 3:55 am

2020 has been a traumatic year. Wild fires, smoke, restrictions to our human rights, face masks, 123 going down for a week in June, Carmen dying, etc. When will it end? This is a lot of misery for one year.

I started getting very tired in late September. I couldn’t figure out why. I had a dream that my friend Mitch took Chinese herbs and got tired. But, Mitch was representing me in the dream and it was not the herbs that were making me tired. So, I had my psychic ask an angel. The angel said that I was processing part of Carmen’s karma after she died and that was tiring me out. Hmmm.

You will be reading this several months after the fact as I prepublish my articles. I am going to Yuma tomorrow Oct 3rd and traveling around AZ and NM like I often do for my energy and health. The shamanic spirits will do healing work on me like they always do. But, this time I am going to spots where the spirits are able to help me more. Spots they prefer and are “better staffed” if you can accept that notion.

Honestly I am a mess without Carmen. I am behind on emails, blogging and most of my other tasks. Somehow I will figure out how to make my life work again. Wish me luck. If only she could do emails from heaven. I’ll ask her next time I do my spirit communication.

Stand Out From the Notary Crowd

Filed under: Ken Edelstein — admin @ 12:52 pm

Landing New Clients
Surprise, you have a lot of competition. Some of them are willing to accept lowball offers that actually cost money to process – what are they thinking (possibly unable to do math?). So, to “break thru” you need to be noticed. Many of the most basic items are covered already; your business name, a well written profile (with an “eye catcher” first line), BBB accreditation, and some positive reviews from past clients. But, there is so much more that you can do to stand out.

Do you stand on the shore and mumble “here fish, fish, fish; come to me”? Of course not, to catch a fish you have to go where they are and have proper gear and great bait. Well, your prospective clients are not fish, nor to you plan to “bait & catch” them. But, you certainly want those soon to be clients to call. Go to them; give them a look see of you, and a business card. Of course you cannot visit the world, so Advertise. Being high up on directories is a great start, with some well written bio information (not self praise). Write as if you were talking to a friend, not to a want to be employer. It doesn’t hurt to add as “bait” an uncommon offer. “I process a duplicate copy of your document at no additional charge because that gives you backup in case the one you ship never arrives”. Or, “On my first visit you will receive a 25% off coupon valid for my next two visits”. Feeling brave? “If I am over 15 minutes late the fee is half of agreement”.

Your Interaction with Prospective and Prior Clients
Read the articles on proper phone answering! Stop saying “Hello”. Better is “Good Morning, your name, how can I help you? Then, listen, really listen. If you know something relevant, that the caller is unlikely to know – offer that information – even if it causes you, on this call; to lose the assignment. It’s (in the long run) a better strategy to be helpful rather than deceitful. They will remember you for honesty and being a source of accurate and relevant information. Be sure to get the what, when and where information prior to any fee discussion. Don’t waste much time if a minnow is calling offering a low ball.

You have a great chance to make a positive impression with the written word. Do you include a .vcf file so they can add you to their electronic database? One of my “secrets” is to often include an appropriate image with emails. Not something extolling me – rather something with a bit of humor or informative. I have a large collection of graphics. A few lawyer cartoons, a rose, an elaborate thank you graphic; build up a collection. Humor is always an appreciated break from the routine. Many are the replies: “Thank You, I need a laugh”. Unsaid: “I will remember you”.

Keep the Clients you have Happy
Be real. Don’t be afraid to actually ask a favor. Perhaps 2PM would be a tight schedule; “can we make that 3PM – so I can be sure to be on time”? Giving someone a dollar on departure, as a gift would certainly be insulting. However, a little research will find many useful items that, in bulk, cost about a dollar. Buy some, and “on your way out” present a “thank you” item. I present tiny, add to keychain flashlights; some admit to calling me back just to get an additional one!
