The 90 days no payment list of signing companies

We’ve created all types of lists of signing companies over the years. But, here is a brand new idea. There are fast pays, 30 day pays, slow pays which might be 45-75 days, and then really slow pays. This list includes signing companies that were reported by Notaries on our forum to be at least 90 days late on paying at least one particular invoice. I wonder if they will pay at all. If you don’t like being paid late, read the reviews before you work for any signing company. Slow payers or no payers need to pay you up front with Paypal otherwise you are on your own, buddy!

Notaries have reported that the following signing companies have not paid them for more than around 90 days in at least one incident. The views reported in this article are NOT the views of 123notary.com, but the views of some of the Notaries on our forum.

  1. I have worked for 5 of the 12 listed “slowpokes” – and they DID make PayPal payments. O, yes, at first they always say “we can’t do that”. But, my standard goodbye of “Thank you for calling” shows them I’m not making a “request”. Sure, some never call back – that’s fine with me. I no longer have a month-end project of “dun the turds”. Why would I “float a loan” to advance the project? And, the use of MY MONEY would be interest free. More importantly up front PayPal spares me the aggravation of that month-end “fee chase”. I buy many things on Amazon and Ebay – NEVER did ANYBODY offer me the option of paying after I received the goods. It’s the same with a humble order at McDonalds for a cup of coffee – I must pay first. Those of you who are content to wait a long time / never receive your fee – are the natural prey of those with exploitation in their hearts. “We are docking you 10$ because you called 10 minutes late”, and similar foolishness – CANNOT happen when you have your full fee in advance. Of course there is the other side of the coin. You must have a “reasonable” refund policy (a cancellation with 24 hours notice) and do perfect, double/triple checked work.

  2. Thank you for your blog.
Greatly appreciate your work on this site!
This will make my life easier and I just add them onto my smart phone contacts as to stay away from these companies!

  3. Honestly, I think we should all set this policy as a standard business practice. A required up front PayPal payment that includes a refund policy is the way to go for all of us. I am implementing the policy at my firm. Thank you for this article.

  4. You left Signing Stream off your list. A least three months to get paid. Refuse to do their signings anymore.

  5. I would like to add (bc I can’t figure out how to edit my previous comment 😉 )That because of the volume of ink, paper and travel required to execute signings, I do not accept offers that are below my published fees. $85 is the lowest.

  6. You also left out Avanti Notary Services. They still owed me 2 payment checks, one over 1 year old and another over 120 days !

  7. I worked for Skye Closings for 3 1/2 months. Even they have a payment policy of 20 business days but it actually take 2 – 3 times of time to collect the payments with emailing their accounting dept to remind them to pay, otherwise legal consequences will be taken to Sky Closings. I am very disappointed and no longer working for them anymore.

  9. Has Mortgage Docs gone out of business without paying some of their notaries, including me? I have emailed and sent a certified letter to the address in Irvine, CA only for it to come back without delivery. If anyone have valid information regarding the status of this company, please contact either me or the National Notary Association.

  11. You must add “Notary Spot” to that list. Haven’t been paid for May signing and won’t take my calls or answer my e-mails.

  12. Skye Closings is extremely slow. I just got paid for my January and February 2017 assignments. I had to email 3 times and call twice. I finally left an ugly vm and they sent an email saying they would pay me that day. Hmmm we shall see.

Also add ASAP.Pro out of Southlake, TX. I have to email them for my money. Im still waiting on my Februaru 2017 payment. They use not to be so bad but now its gotten really bad.
