123notary’s certifications will get you more business than before

Filed under: Marketing Articles,Popular on Linked In — Tags: — admin @ 11:01 am

A certification is only as valuable as the knowledge it represents. In the past, I thought our certified members were great and did not need to be tested. Then, things changed and I found I was wrong. I had to remove certifications from many people’s listings. So, now there are fewer 123notary certified members. However, the ones that have the icon have a higher level of knowledge than before. Therefore, having our certification icon will get you a bigger advantage now than ever before.

All you have to do is actually know how to be a Notary, know your loan documents, and know how to handle situations. Being 123notary certified is pathetically easy. I am shocked how many people cannot pass our test. It is easy. Most people would rather fail in their career than study a few hours. Studying is not that hard, and this is much easier than studying for a real license. So, what is the problem.

In the old days, 123notary certificaiton would get you roughly 2.5x more business. Now, that I am cleaned up my cert icon and where I put it, it will logically get more than that. I would estimate it would get people 4x more business. However, I need to wait a few months before I get formal readings. In any case this is huge. You would be a fool not to have our icon. The studying involved is only a few hours. It won’t kill you.

Additionally, the Elite icon is being scrutinized. It is not so easy to get, but you can do it if you put your mind to it. Ask us how to get the elite icon. And if you don’t believe me then ask Santa (if he’s real.)

A Notary told us our Certification was approved by 1st American

Filed under: Certification & Communication Skills — admin @ 7:36 am

I was calling Notaries up to inform them of the merits of our certification program when one tole me that our certification has finally been approved in the real world. He told me that 1st American Title is now accepting NNA or 123notary.com certification. Personally, I feel that our test is harder than NNA’s, so why accept anything else?

Let us know if you come across companies that like our certification. The people who use our site give double the business to those who passed our test and have our icon which is proof of the pudding so to speak although proof is off my diet — but, pudding isn’t!

123notary Elite Certification, what is it all about?

Filed under: Signing Tips — Tags: — admin @ 9:53 am

123notary Elite Certification is not for everyone. It is for the cream of the crop. Although we recommend it only for those with over 750 signings under their belt, any serious notary who loves to learn might be a good prospect for this course.

Our Elite Certification is currently $179 and comes with a Ninja Notary Marketing Course that covers higher aspects of notary, signing agent, and notary marketing knowledge, interesting stories, interviews with Title companies, and more… Please read our summary of the Ninja course to learn if it is right for you!

Why get our Elite Certification?
Those with our Elite icon typically get somewhat of a monopoly on jobs, and get more than their fair share of higher paying jobs as well. Those who have a generous budget want to hire the best notaries, and on 123notary, it is easy to identify those notaries with their little yellow icon!

Are Elite Notaries really better?
Yes! I spend a lot of time with notaries on the phone. I will vouch for the fact that regular 123notary certified notaries know roughly DOUBLE about signing agent work than their uncertified counterparts. On the other hand, Elite certified notaries typically have a very deep knowledge about the industry. Although they might be fuzzy on some of their facts, they typically have in depth knowledge about many aspects of signing agent work since they have done so much of it. Although some of our Elite members are a bit snobby and argumentative, I will vouch for the fact that they are much more sophisticated as signers than the remaining 97% of the crop!

How much more work do Elite notaries get?
Regular 123notary certified notaries get roughly 2.5x more work than non-123notary certified notaries. Elite certified notaries get roughly 1.5x more work than regular 123notary certified notaries. That translates into roughly 3.75x as much work as someone who isn’t certified by 123notary at all!

Is it worth it?
You pay once for the course, and it keeps paying off day after day, year after year. It is like a goose that lays golden eggs! You can think of it as paying for itself after less than two signings! For those who want to get ahead, it is a huge bargain…

A resurgence in interest in 123notary certification

Filed under: Certification & Communication Skills — admin @ 10:51 am

(originally from 2019)

More and more Notaries are becoming a lot more serious and interested in 123notary.com certification. In the old days people said, “I am already NNA certified so why do I need yours?” The answer was always — how much work do you get from signing agent.com. The answer was generally, “not much.” Our site is based on quality and our certification gets people more work.

The amount of interest is like drops in a bucket. Every week a few people express interest and some of them will study enough. But, this can add up over time. Carmen and I like teaching people and we have given a lot of free time to those who expressed an interest in Notary knowledge.

I hope that in the future people start taking notary education more seriously. Although the general climate in the notary industry is low-balling and not quality, quality notaries do get more business and do make more money. So, there is a huge benefit in being at the top of the food chain even in today’s market.

People love our Notary Public 101 course on the blog. We have had more than 10,000 people visit the home page of that course. Most people read it for pleasure and not for mastery, but that is better than nothing. I hope that more Notaries express an interest in learning regardless of who they learn from. 123notary is not just a job, it is my craft and I seek to be the best craftsman I can be by having the best directory. Having the best directory means having the best and most desirable Notaries and that means that you guys need to study and be your best.

Many of you have the intellect to be masters of this trade. However few of you start out with the knowledge. Knowledge is there for the taking. It is just a matter of approaching the information with the intention of mastery. This takes time, patience and perseverance, and perhaps a little tutoring from the people here at 123notary.

Additions to policies regarding listings, certification and elite

Filed under: Advertising,Popular on Linked In — admin @ 12:37 am

Here are some new official policies for being listed and having various certifications. Please note that in addition to testing Notaries on general competency in the areas we test them in, we also keep score for general communication skills. Notaries who exhibit various forms of incompetency, bad attitudes, or listening comprehension issues will be written up in our notes which are private and not accessable to the public in any way shape or form.

(1) Requirements for being listed on 123notary.com.
In addition to being a current Notary Public, you must exhibit a certain level of competency to us at 123notary by means of a phone quiz. We require a minimum of 70% passing to ensure being willing to list you on the basis of competency. For those that score less than 70%, we might make exceptions if they are in an area with not so many other Notaries, or not so many other Notaries who passed our test. Issues that we expect Notaries to be competent in include:

Identification, Journals, Notary Acts, Oaths, Certificates, and Seals.

(2) Requirements for getting or keeping certification from 123notary.com.
Our previous rule was that if you were certified by 123notary, that the certification fee was a one time fee only. As of October 2017, we will require Notaries to recertify every (2) years. This will be at a small cost to those who purchased certification after Oct, 2017 and at no cost for those who initially got certified before that date.

All certified Notaries will be quizzed by phone no more than once per calendar year. The quiz for certified Notaries will include questions about:

(a) General Notary Knowledge: Identification, Journals, Notary Acts, Oaths, Certificates, and Seals.
(b) Handling situations before, at, or after loan signings.
(c) General knowledge of basic loan documents which normally include questions about FAQ’s borrowers have and what information is in which document.

(3) Requirements for keeping our Elite certification on 123notary.com.

All elite certified notaries on 123notary will be quizzed by phone no more than once per calendar year for quality standards. The quiz will include.

(d) Advanced Notary knowledge such as advanced vocabulary, Apostilles, less common documents, and generally harder questions.

Grading for elite certification will be at a higher standard than for the regular certified Notaries although we do not have a set standard for a passing percentage due to the fact that the difficulty of questions can vary from test to test.

(4) It is possible we might have a Platinum certification with an even higher standard in the future. However, during 2017 we will focus on maintaining set standards for the regular certification and elite. Please keep reading the blog to see if Platinum or Platinum Gray is mentioned.

Maximizing Earnings: The Most Profitable Loan Signings

Filed under: Signing Tips — Tags: — Tom Wilkins @ 12:00 am

In today’s fast-paced real estate and business environment, loan signings are crucial in helping homeowners and business owners secure the funds they need to achieve their goals. Understanding the most profitable loan signings can significantly impact your financial success. This article will explore the key factors that make certain loan signings more profitable and how to maximize your earnings through these opportunities.

Understanding Loan Signings

Loan signings are formal meetings where borrowers sign the documents necessary to complete a loan transaction. These meetings involve the borrower, the lender, and often a notary public, who verifies the parties’ identities and ensures the documents are signed correctly. The profitability of a loan signing can vary based on several factors, including the loan amount, complexity, and type.

Types of Profitable Loan Signings

  1. Home Purchase Loan Signings
  2. Home purchase loan signings are among the most profitable because they typically involve large sums of money. These transactions often require comprehensive documentation and multiple signings, leading to higher fees for notaries. The complexity of the process, along with the significant investment, makes these signings lucrative opportunities for those involved.
  3. Refinance Loan Signings
  4. Refinancing a home loan can be attractive for homeowners looking to take advantage of lower interest rates or better terms. The demand for refinance loan signings has increased in recent years, and notaries can benefit from the steady stream of business. While these signings may be smaller than home purchase transactions, they often occur more frequently, providing consistent income.
  5. Commercial Loan Signings
  6. Business owners seeking to expand operations or invest in new projects often require commercial loans. These signings can be exceptionally profitable due to the substantial amounts involved. The documentation for commercial loans can be more complex, resulting in higher fees for those facilitating the process.
  7. Reverse Mortgage Loan Signings
  8. Reverse mortgages are specialized loans for homeowners aged 62 and older, allowing them to convert part of their home equity into cash. These signings often involve detailed documentation and explanations, resulting in higher earnings for notaries and professionals.

Strategies for Maximizing Earnings

  1. Specialize in High-Value Transactions
  2. Focusing on high-value transactions such as home purchases and commercial loan signings can significantly increase your earnings. Specializing in these areas may require additional training and expertise, but the potential financial rewards make it worthwhile.
  3. Build Relationships with Lenders and Real Estate Agents
  4. Establishing strong connections with lenders, real estate agents, and title companies can lead to a steady stream of business. Networking within these industries will position you as a trusted professional, ensuring you are called upon for the most profitable loan signings.
  5. Enhance Your Skill Set
  6. Improving your skills and knowledge in the loan signing process will set you apart from the competition. Consider obtaining certifications or attending workshops to stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Additional services, such as using an inkless embosser for document verification, can also enhance your value.
  7. Provide Exceptional Customer Service
  8. Delivering outstanding customer service is key to building a successful loan signing business. Ensuring a smooth and efficient signing process will lead to repeat business and referrals, further increasing profitability.

Challenges to Consider

While the potential for profitability is high in the loan signing business, there are challenges to be aware of. Competition can be fierce, and market fluctuations may impact the demand for certain loan signings. Staying adaptable and continuously seeking ways to improve your services will help you navigate these challenges effectively.

Unlocking the Potential of Profitable Loan Signings

Understanding the dynamics of the most profitable loan signings is essential for homeowners and business owners looking to maximize their earnings. By focusing on high-value transactions, building strong industry relationships, enhancing your skills, and providing exceptional service, you can unlock the full potential of this lucrative field. Whether you’re a homeowner refinancing your property or a business owner seeking capital for growth, the right loan signing opportunities can lead to significant financial success.

This is particularly true for notary public professionals who handle crucial documents for homeowners and business owners. Continuing education for notary public professionals is not just a regulatory requirement but a vital component for maintaining professionalism and competence. Let’s delve into why ongoing learning is so important for notaries.

Ensuring Compliance with Changing Laws

Laws and regulations governing notarial acts are constantly evolving. Notaries must stay current with these changes to ensure compliance and avoid legal repercussions. Continuing education programs offer updated information about new laws, helping notaries remain ahead of the curve. For instance, remote online notarization (RON) has transformed how notaries perform their duties, necessitating additional training and certification.

Enhancing Skills and Knowledge

Continuing education for notary public professionals goes beyond legal compliance and enhances their skills and knowledge. Advanced courses can cover various topics, from handling complex notarizations to improving customer service skills. By investing in their education, notaries can provide better service to homeowners and business owners, ensuring that all documents are handled correctly and efficiently.

Staying Competitive in the Market

The notary public profession is competitive, and those who stand out often invest in their ongoing education. Notaries can differentiate themselves from their peers by staying updated with the latest industry standards and practices. This competitive edge is particularly beneficial for attracting and retaining clients, as homeowners and business owners prefer working with well-known notaries in current regulations and practices.

Adapting to Technological Advancements

Technology is rapidly changing the landscape of the notary public profession. Notaries must be proficient with the latest technological tools, from electronic signatures to digital document storage. Continuing education courses often include training on these advancements, ensuring that notaries can effectively integrate technology into their practice. This improves efficiency and meets the growing expectations of tech-savvy clients.

Networking and Professional Growth

Continuing education provides notaries with opportunities to network with other professionals in the field. Attending seminars, workshops, and conferences allows notaries to share experiences, gain new insights, and build valuable connections. These interactions can lead to professional growth and open doors to new opportunities, enhancing the notary’s career trajectory.

Providing exceptional customer service can lead to repeat business and referrals. Be punctual, professional, and responsive to client inquiries. Going the extra mile to ensure clients are satisfied can result in positive word-of-mouth, helping you get more signings in less time.
