Notarize this page!

Filed under: Technical & Legal — admin @ 8:36 am

You are at a notarization and the instructions say, “Notarize this page.” However, there is no certificate wording on the page. What do you do now? The Notary may not choose the Notary act as that might be construed as UPL. So, just ask the client or signer what act they want and then attach the corresponding certificate to the document. That’s all.

  1. Greetings,

    You are absolutely right.
A Notary is one of the most critical to define; a job? A career? An Employee? A Business owner?
No . Not any of the above, even more, all of them need a “Notary”.
I am Lebanese, 240 Notary is a strict function availability. Yet You can never imagine how pathetic is becoming their standing in Beirut.

I would appreciate getting involved more with you in the community and discuss in details.

I am reaching out because I need to notarise a document in order to be processed in the USA.

Can someone notarise my signature? 🙂

    Thank you

  2. Well, chances are they do not know what notarial act is required, they just want the stamp. Each state is different and recommending a blanket approach is dangerous. Oregon provides various examples of notarial certificates and the client must chose the one they feel is most appropriate. The notary cannot indicate which one is most appropriate, which one is most often used nor can he/she interpret the client’s wishes and choose on their behalf. The client must choose the certificate.
